철학과

주요 연구 분야는 동아시아 유학 사상, 한국 사상이며, 서양 학문과 만난 조선 후기 유학의 성격, 근현대 한국 사상의 맥과 흐름을 연구하고 있다. 현재 가톨릭대학교 철학과의 교수로 재직하며 연구와 강의 중이다. 2007년 2월, 연세대학교 철학과에서  <정약용 철학의 형성과 전개: 주자학과 서학에 대한 비판적 수용 과정을 중심으로>라는 글로 박사학위를 받았다.  <정약용의 철학>(이학사, 2007), <강의실에 찾아온 유학자들>(사계절, 2007), <정약용의 정치사상>(2025, 이학사) 등의 저서가 있고, <세계적 K사상을  향하여>(2024, 창비), <문명전환의 한국사상>(창비, 2024) 등의 공저서가 있다.  

BAEK Minjung (mjbaek@catholic.ac.kr) is currently a professor of the Department of Philosophy of the Catholic University of Korea. Her research focuses on the Confucian thought during the Joseon Korea. She seeks to broadly research the traditional Korean Confucian thought with the East Asian horizon and is interested in the modern reinterpretation of Confucianism during the Joseon Korea from philosophical context of today. Currently, she is working on the theory of the mind, ethics, and political philosophy of the Confucian scholars during the late Joseon.

가톨릭대 철학과 교수이다. 에얼랑엔-뉘른베르크 대학에서 수학하고(철학박사. 1999), 애리조나 주립대 철학과 방문교수(2006-2007)로 있었다.대표 연구출판물로 Oikeiosis: Stoische Ethik in naturphilosophischer Perspektiv(Verlag Karl Allber Freiburg, 2002),  단독 번역서로 플라톤의 『소피스트』(아카넷, 2019), 공동 번역서로 아리스토텔레스의 『니코마코스 윤리학』(길, 2011)이 있다.

He is a professor of philosophy at Catholic University. He studied at the University of Erlangen-Nuremberg (Doctor of Philosophy, 1999) and was a visiting professor in the Department of Philosophy at Arizona State University (2006-2007). Representative research publications include Oikeiosis: Stoische Ethik in naturphilosophischer Perspektiv (Verlag Karl Allber Freiburg, 2002), solo The translation includes Plato's 『The Sophist』 (Arcanet, 2019), and the joint translation of Aristotle's 『Nicomachean Ethics』 (Gil, 2011).

서울대학교 식품공학과를 졸업한 뒤, 가톨릭대학교 신학부에서 신학을 공부하던 중 중세철학에 관심을 가지게 되었다. 독일 프라이부르크 대학에서 석사와 박사학위(중세철학 전공)를 취득했다. 그의 박사 학위 논문은 네덜란드 Brill 출판사의 중세철학 분야의 핵심시리즈인 ‘중세 정신사에 대한 연구와 텍스트’에 받아들여져 『토마스 아퀴나스에 의한 중세 언어철학의 신학적 수용: 유비(類比)문제를 중심으로』(1999)라는 제목으로 출간되었다. 
주요관심 연구 분야는 아직 충분히 알려지지 못한 라틴어 중세철학 원전에 담긴 보화를 우리나라에 적극 소개하고, 중세철학이라는 인류 문화의 보고로부터 우리 문화를 풍성하게 할 값진 사상을 얻어내는 데에 있다.

Professor Seung-Chan Park is a professor of Philosophy in the Department of Humanities at the Catholic University of Korea, and has served as the President of the Seongsim Graduate School, the Korean Medieval Philosophy Society, and the Korean Catholic Philosophy Society, the Director of the Stephen Cardinal Kim Institute. After graduating from the Department of Food Science and Technology at Seoul National University, he became interested in medieval philosophy while studying theology at the Catholic University of Korea. He received his master's and doctoral degrees (major in medieval philosophy) from the University of Freiburg, Germany. His doctoral dissertation was accepted in 'Research and Text on the History of Medieval Spirit', a core series in the field of medieval philosophy by Brill, the Netherlands, and was published in 『Theological Acceptance of Medieval Philosophy of Language by Thomas Aquinas: Focusing on the Problem of Analogy』 (1999) was published under the title.
The main research field of interest is to actively introduce the treasures contained in the Latin text of medieval philosophy, which are not yet sufficiently known, to Korea, and to obtain valuable ideas that will enrich our culture from the treasure trove of human culture called medieval philosophy.

서울대학교에서 법학을 전공했으며, 동 대학 철학과에서 데카르트의 윤리학을 주제로 석사 논문을, 파리8대학 산하 철학의 현대적 논리 연구소(LLCP)에서 데리다 사유의 전개를 주제로 박사 논문을 작성했다. 

Minho Kim received his BA in law and MA in philosophy from Seoul National University, writing his master’s thesis on Descartes’ ethics. He earned his PhD at Laboratoire d’Études et de Recherches sur les Logiques Contemporaines de la Philosophie (LLCP), Université Paris 8, with a dissertation on the development of Derrida’s thought.
